Guide to Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport (YYZ)

This is Canada's premier airport in terms of
air traffic. It provides domestic, short haul and long-haul flights
and is located 16 miles from the city. It has a notoriously long
runway and taxiing time can take up to one hour.
Terminal
and check-In
YYZ has two main terminals, the first being solely for domestic
flights and is the home of Air Canada. The second building (Terminal
3) is mainly for long-haul destinations. Walking between terminals
takes quite a while but there is a shuttle service making transit
convenient.
Airport
facilities
There are a variety of food and beverage outlets, including a food
court and a wide range of shops. There are no locker facilities
but there is a baggage check service in both terminals.
Business
and meetings
There is a business centre with all the standard service provided
for. There is also internet access.
Shopping
and money
There is no shortage of duty free shopping options in Terminal 2
and Banks, ATMs and currency exchange services are also on offer
in all areas of the airport.
Disability
assistance
The airport has excellent facilities. Wheelchair access is good
and there are specially designed toilets. Staff are on hand to help,
contact the airport if any special requirements are needed.
Information
Information kiosks are located in the airport and multi-lingual
the customer service staff are only too obliged to help. They can
be found throughout the airport. There is also a speech activated

By taxi
Taxis are available outside both terminals and offer a good service.
It costs CN$40 into the city. Taxis are authorized and all have
meters.
By car
It is 16 miles into Toronto and the city is well sign-posted. Traffic
delays are uncommon.
By bus
There is a regular service running into the city and surrounding
districts costing CN$16,75. Information concerning this service

Parking
All parking is within walking distance. There is short and long-term
parking available as well as special provision for disabled persons.
There is a free bus service running every 10 minutes to the terminal.
