Transportation to and from the airport


The main gateway to Australia is Sydney International Airport, located just 9 kms south of the city centre.

Terminals and check-in
The airport has 4 terminals (Terminal 1 International, Terminal 2 Domestic, Terminal 3 Qantas and Express Terminal). Transport between terminals is provided by an underground Airport Rail Link.

Airport facilities
There are Nine restaurants and cafés at the airport, offering a range of international and Australian cuisine. Options include Astro Café, Bistro Bistro, Blue Sky Café, Hemisphere Café and Shakespeare’s Pies.

Postal and fax facilities are provided by Australia Post, located in the centre of Departures level 2. A medical centre is available in Terminal 1 International on level 3, open 08:00-18:00 Monday-Friday and 09:00-16:00 Saturday-Sunday. There is also a pharmacy and child activity centres and Kid's Cinemas in the One World and Star Alliance gate lounges.

Business and meetings
Fax facilities are provided by Australia Post and internet access is provided at the Airport Bar in Departures level 2.

Shopping and money
There are over 130 retail outlets in the airport, including a wine store, an Australian produce shop, international and Australian fashion stores, and an array of specialty stores, such as Toys Can Fly, Sunglasses@Sydney, Future Image Plus, City Convenience Store and MAC Cosmetics.

Several bureaux de change and ATMs are located on Departures level 2 and Arrivals level 1 of Terminal 1 International.

Disability assistance
Amenities for those with disabilities include showers, toilets, ramps and lowered telephones. Wheelchairs are provided by the Tourism New South Wales desk on Arrivals level 1 of Terminal 1 International.

Information
The Terminal 1 International help desk is situated beside the glass lifts in the centre of the terminal on Departures level 2.

Sydney International Airport transportation

By taxi
A taxi rank is located outside the mid-point of the Arrivals Hall in International Terminal 1. Maxi-taxis and wagons, as well as normal taxis offer baby capsules and wheelchair access, with trips downtown taking 30 minutes. Taxi ranks are also located directly outside each of the Domestic Terminals.

Another option is the limousine service, which may be booked in advance and is located in front of the International Terminal 1 Arrivals Hall.

By rail
An Airport Rail Link links the International Terminal 1, the Domestic Terminals, central Sydney and the Sydney suburbs. Airport Rail Link stations are found in Terminals 1, 2 and 3 and near the Express Terminal. Trains operate every 10 minutes at peak times and every 15 minutes at weekends and off-peak times, 05:00-24:00 Monday-Friday, 05:00-01:00 Friday-Sunday.

By bus
The bus area is located outside the International Terminal 1 Arrivals Hall, next to the airport's outdoor Piazza. At the Domestic Terminals, waiting areas are located outside the Express Terminal and opposite Terminal 2 Domestic and Terminal 3 Qantas.

Green and Gold Airport Express buses provide fixed route services between the airport terminals, central Sydney and Kings Cross, 05:00-23:00. Route 300 transports passengers to central Sydney and Central Station. Route 350 serves Central Station, Kings Cross, Potts Point and Elizabeth Bay. Tickets are bought from the driver. There are also buses direct to Bondi Junction, via Coogee, east of the city centre.

Parking
Three car parks are available. The International Terminal 1 Car Park is located on the Arrivals Level of the International Terminal. Domestic multi-storey and long-term carparks are also available. To access the Long-Term Car Park, follow Ross Smith Avenue from General Holmes or Sir Reginald Ansett Drive.
