Guide to Shanghai Hong Qiao International Airport (SHA)

One of China’s major regional airports
is Shanghai Airport. It is located 13 km southwest of Shanghai’s
city centre.
Terminals
and check-in
There is only one terminal at the airport.
Airport
facilities
A variety of restaurants and bars are located across the terminal,
with both Chinese and international foods available.
A post office is also available in
the terminal.
Business
and meetings
24-hour business facilities are offered by the Shanghai International
Airport Hotel (Tel: +86 21 6268 8888). Facilities include a number
of meeting rooms, telephone, fax, photocopying and telex facilities,
as well as optional catering services.
Shopping
and money
There is plenty of shopping available with duty-free shopping provided
in the departures areas. A number of souvenir-type stores sell various
products, from flamboyant scrolls to silk pajamas.
A bank branch is available in the
terminal, open daily from 06:00-22:00. There is also a bureau de
change facility.
Disability
assistance
Toilets adapted for the disabled are available in the terminal building
and the airport is equipped with lifts and ramps to facilitate access.

Shanghai Hong Qiao International Airport transportation
By taxi
Taxis are available outside the terminal. Make sure that the driver
uses the meter. Journeys to the city centre take 25-45 minutes.
Ensure that you join the correct taxi queue, as different queues
are provided for different journey distances.
By car
To reach the city centre by car, use the Yanan Road which leads
directly to the centre of Shanghai and also connects to the Shanghai
inner ring road. The outer ring road links Hong Qiao International
Airport to Pudong International Airport; journeys take 30-40 minutes.
By bus
CAAC City Buses operate frequently between city destinations, including
the city ticket office. Bus no. 925 serves the People's Square,
no. 938 connects with Pudong Yangjiadu, no. 806 serves Zhongshan
South Yi Road, no. 807 operates to Shanghai West Railway Station,
no. 941 runs to Shanghai Railway Station and airport bus no. 1 links
with Pudong International Airport. Little space is provided on buses
to cater for luggage.
Most leading hotels provide shuttle
buses to and from the airport.
Parking
Long- and short-term car parks are available, with 580 spaces provided
in front of the terminal building.
