Guide to Rome Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (FCO)

Known locally as Fiumicino, this is Rome’s
main airport. It serves flights to most worldwide destinations and
is situated 16 miles southwest of the city. Rome's other airport
is Ciampino, about 12 miles southeast of Rome.
Terminals
and check-In
The airport serves more than 100 airlines in three terminals. Terminal
A is for domestic flights; Terminal B has both domestic and international
flights and Terminal C serves international flights only.
Airport
facilities
There is a wide range of cafés, delis and a good choice of
shops. Terminal A has a food court, Terminal B’s Terrazza
Roma has both shopping and a food court while Terminal C has a large
restaurant area with a variety of differing food styles and a pleasant
view of the airfield. The nearby Hilton Hotel is accessed via a
passenger walkway offering a range of facilities, including a pool
and fitness center. Staffed baggage storage is available in Terminal
C arrivals hall.
Business
and meetings
An executive center is located on the third level of terminal A
and has all business and conferencing requirements (Open 07:00 to
23:00).
Money
and shopping
Banks, ATM machines and currency exchange facilities are also available
throughout the airport complex. There is a wide range of duty free
shopping options, including alcohol and cigarettes, convenience
items, electronic consumer goods and designer labels.
Disabled assistance
There is a special disabled travellers lounge near gates C12 and
B1. The arrivals hall in the domestic terminal also provides a special
lounge area. There are parking spaces for disabled drivers in the
long-term car park and on the first level of the multi-level car
parks B-C, as welll as on the fourth floor of car park D.

Information desks are located in the arrivals hall in each of the

By taxi
Taxis are available outside the terminal entrance but tend to be
rather expensive.
By car
An autostrada runs from the airport to the city, the trip takes
around 45 minutes.
By rail
The easiest and cheapest way into the city is via the ‘Leonardo
Express’ Stazione Termini direct train. This service runs
every half hour and connections also run to Trastevere, Ostiense
and Tiburtina.
By bus
A regular service runs from the airport into downtown Rome and the
surrounding area. These services can be found outside terminal entrances.
A night bus also runs to Stazione Tiburtina.
Parking
There are short and long-term parking services in various locations
close to the main terminal buildings. Inter-connecting passenger
walkways and free shuttle services are in regular operation.
