Guide to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)

Newark International Airport was renamed Newark
Liberty International Airport in August 2002, in the wake of the
September 11 attacks. The airport is New York’s third airport.
Terminal
and check-In
There are three terminals at Newark. Terminal A provides the majority
of domestic destinations, Terminal B serves most internationals
airlines and Terminal C is reserved for Continental airlines. A
monorail links all the terminals and also extends to the car parking
area.
Airport facilities
The majority of services are in Terminal C with several shopping
opportunities, a food court and a few drinking establishments. Terminal
C contains a ‘departure spa’ and the airport has two
special areas where airplane enthusiasts can watch the planes take
off.
Money
Banks, ATMs and currency exchange services are widely available
throughout the airport.

Newark Airport has friendly customer service staff willing to help
travellers with queries they may have about travel arrangements
or airport facilities (look out for the red coats).

Newark Liberty International Airport
By taxi
Taxi’s are available outside the terminal buildings and mini
buses are also available. A journey into New York will cost $40
and can take up to 90 minutes depending on time of day. A trip to
Newark is $15. All taxis are metered and licensed.
By car
From New York take the I-78 which goes all the way to Newark airport.
The journey should be made in under an hour.
By rail
Get on at Newark's Airport Rail Link station. There is a wide choice
of destinations available from the airport. Services are regularly
and run most hours of the day.
By bus
There are regularly departing express buses to many destinations
in the greater New York City area and Adjacent New Jersey metropolitan
area. This is the most convenient and popular means of mass transport
from the airport.
Parking
The airport offers good parking facilities. Short term, long term,
valet parking and disabled parking are all available. A free monorail
service provides the best way of reaching the airport buildings.
