Guide to Montego Bay Sangster International Airport (MBJ)

The modest, but modern Montego Bay Sangstar International
Airport is the main bustling gateway to Jamaica. Montego Bay is
considered a far more convenient and safer arrival point than Kingston
and it has also become a popular connecting route for Americans
wishing to visit Cuba.
Terminals
and check-in
There is only one terminal at the airport.
Passengers should be aware that security
and customs checks will be very thorough on arriving back at a UK
destination. Never accept packages from people or leave luggage
unattended.
Airport
facilities
A cafeteria offers basic refreshments and meals. Post-boxes are
located throughout the terminal.
Business
and meetings
Business travellers will not find extensive facilities at the airport,
and so are advised to tend to any important business before arrival
at the airport.
Shopping
and money
Shopping is rather limited, with a row of kiosk-style shops providing
some duty-free goods and newspapers.
There are ATMs and a bureau de change
located in the terminal.
Disability
assistance
Facilities for the disabled include specially adapted toilets, ramps
and good access throughout the airport. Help is also on hand from
airport staff and porters, with individual airlines tending to any
particular needs of their passengers.
