Guide to Milan Malpensa Intercontinental
Airport (MXP)
The gateway to northern Italy is Milan Malpensa
International Airport. The airport continues to expand it services
and now has direct flights to Japan and the Middle East. The airport
is located 45 km northeast of Milan.
Terminals
and check-in
The airport has two terminals. Terminal 1 is called Malpensa Ovest
and Terminal 2 is known as Malpensa Nord. These terminals are connected
by a shuttle bus that leaves every 10 minutes.
Airport
facilities
A cocktail lounge, café and several restaurants are available
in both terminals. There are also pharmacies, a beauty centre and
travel agencies. Other facilities include a left luggage office
situated in the Terminal 2 arrivals hall (open daily 24 hours).
Business
and meetings
Eurochange runs a business centre (tel: +39 (0)2 5858 1074). The
centre offers workstations, fax, photocopier, personal computer
and mobile phone rental. Meeting rooms, catering up to 14 people,
can be booked in advance.
Further facilities are available in
Club SEA lounges (tel: +39 (0) 2 7486 2380-1,2,3,4,5). Internet
access, telephones, magazines and video stations with the latest
stock exchange figures are all provided. Please note that Club SEA
is for members only.
Shopping
and money
Milan is the Mecca of fashion and a range of shops are available
in both terminals.
There are several banks, bureaux de change and ATMs located throughout
both terminals.
Disability
assistance
Special assistance is available for passengers with special needs.
Travellers should inform their airline of their requirements in
advance. Sala Amica, the courtesy lounge in terminal 1, provides
toilets for people with mobility problems. The hearing-impaired
are provided with special telephones. Those with vision difficulties
can find newspapers and magazines in Braille.

Airport transportation
By taxi
Taxis are located outside the arrivals hall and the trip to Milan’s
city centre will take just under an hour.
By car
To drive to the airport, take State Road 336, then follow Autostrada
dei Laghi (A8) and exit at the Busto Arsizio exit
By rail
Trains operate from terminal 1 to Milano Cadorna station every 30
minutes from 04:30 to 22:30 Monday to Friday and take about 40 minutes.
By bus
Buses connect both terminals with Milano Centrate station every
20 minutes from 04:30 to 22:30 daily.
The Malpensa Bus Express connects
terminal 1 with Milano Fiera Stazione Centrale station from 6:30
to 23:50 daily (Milan's exhibition and conference centre).
Parking
Short- and long-term parking, operated by SEA Gestione Parking (tel:
+39 (0) 2 7486 2591) and APCOA (tel: +39 (0) 2 5858 1069), is available
close to terminal 1. APCOA provides covered parking spaces that
are linked directly to the terminal by a walkway. Payment can be
made at automated payment machines.
SEA Gestione Parking also provides
long- and short-term parking close to terminal 2. A Park & Fly
shuttle bus is available.
