Guide to Memphis International Airport (MEM)
This small and often busy airport is situated
15 miles from Memphis. Much of the traffic coming here caters for
the thousands of Elvis fans visiting nearby ‘Graceland’.
The airport may be small but has suitable facilities for travellers.
Terminal
and check-In
The airport is divided into three concourses. Delta Airlines fly
from Concourse A, Northwest Airlines from Concourse B while Concourse
C serves Delta, Northwest and a few other airlines that operate
out of here. There is no shuttle connecting buildings and walking
the length of the airport can take up to 30 minutes.
Airport
facilities
There are a number of fast food outlets including a food court,
the Interstate BBQ Restaurant and Da Blues Memphis restaurant. There
is also a special Elvis Presley gift shop.
Money
There are ATM machines and banks within the terminals buildings.
Business
and meetings
There is a small business centre in the ticket area of Lobby B which
provides the usual services and also some financial services. There
are conference facilities in the nearby Radisson hotel and meeting
rooms in the Sky Inn.
Disability
assistance
The airport has good all round facilities. Disabled drivers must
display their disability ID badge for parking.
