Guide to London Stansted Airport (STN)
Situated north of London near the town of Harlow
it is small compared to its older cousins Heathrow and Gatwick.
Still this airport sees around 14 million passenger a year. It is
relatively new and its terminal is quite impressive and spacious.
Most flights are domestic or short-haul European flights and many
budget airlines operate from this charming little airport. With
many budget European flights, Stansted is ideal for North London
or Midlands residents.
Airport facilities
There are a number of shopping opportunities available with some
high street stores located here for example HMV Music store and
Tie Rack. There are buffet restaurants in the terminal and two bars.
A left luggage facility is available.
Shopping and money
There are number of duty free outlets within the departures hall.
Boarding passes must be produced. Duty free is not available when
flying within the EU. There are a number of ATM’s and bureaux
de change.

London Stansted Airport Transportation
By taxi
Taxi’s are available but can prove quite expensive. Make sure
to catch an authorized taxi and one with a meter.
By car
To get to the airport head onto the M25 looking for junction 27.
Join the M11 here until Junction 8A. The motorway is sign-posted
well from here. Access to Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire are via
the A505 and A414, while East Anglia can be reached via the A11,
A12 and A120. To the North and Midlands, use the A1 and A14.
By rail
There is a regular service running out of Liverpool Street on a
regular basis. It takes about one hour but considering the congestion
in and around London is well worth considering. Local services also
run but not as regular.
By bus
The Airbus A6 runs every 20 minutes which takes a long tour of North
London. A Jetlink service runs frequently to local towns and further
north.
Parking
Parking is available for short or long stay, with prices from £1.6
per 30 minutes, but long stay rates are also offered. For booking
