Guide to Lima Jorge Chávez Lima-Callao International Airport (LIM)

The main gateway into Peru is Lima Airport, which
is located 16 km northwest of Lima’s city centre.
Terminals
and check-in
One terminal deals with all departures and arrivals, providing a
wide range of facilities to cater for travellers' needs.
Airport
facilities
Refreshments and meals are available at three restaurants located
on the mezzanine level, with three cafés and two fast food
outlets also available. There is also a restaurant and cafe in the
International Zone, with all restaurants providing a 24 hour service.
There are also vending machines available with soft drinks, snacks,
cigarettes and coffee.
Other facilities include a left luggage
facility, a chemist’s and medical centre (providing a vaccination
service) located in the Main Hall. There is also an airport porter
service. Porters can be hired at the terminal for a small fee --
they are dressed in uniform and have a push cart for luggage. Passengers
are advised not to accept any unofficial assistance.
Business
and meetings
For e-mail and web-surfing, an Internet Café is located in
the International Transit area.
Shopping
and money
Newsagents and gift shops are located in the Main Hall, as are sweet
shops. Also on the main concourse there are shops and booths selling
handicrafts, books, magazines and other items.
There are four bureaux de change which
are open 24-hours; two are located in the Main Hall of the International
Zone and the other two in the Domestic Zone. The International Zone
also has a bank and there are several ATMs located throughout the
International and Domestic Zones.
Disability
assistance
Specially adapted toilets and ramps are provided to facilitate wheelchair
access across the terminal. However, those who require wheelchairs
should contact their airline in advance. Facilities for visually-impaired
and hearing-impaired passengers are in accordance with international
regulations.
Information
There is a Tourist Information Desk located in the Main Hall of
the International Zone.

Lima International Airport transportation
By taxi
Taxis are located outside the Arrivals Hall. Passengers are advised
to use one of three official taxi companies.
By car
To reach the ariport by car from central Lima, take E. Faucett Avenue
and follow the signs to the airport.
By bus
Central Lima is connected to the airport by bus. The nearest stop
is found on the main avenue leading from the city centre to the
airport, as no buses are permitted to enter the airport.
Another option is to take one of the
combis (minibuses), which run to/from central Lima and stop along
the main city avenues-- Avenida Abancay, Avenida Tacna and Avenida
Wilson.
Parking
The carpark is located next to the terminal. Parking is free for
the first 15 minutes after which charges are applied on an hourly
basis. Note that secure parking is proivided at the car park entrance.
