Guide to Kansas City Airport (MCI)
This airport is an efficient central hub for
flights mainly to destinations throughout the US. Despite its heavy
air traffic flow it has a relaxed feel partly due to the spacious
layout of the airport terminal. There are currently plans to develop
the airport further which might temporarily cause disruption to
its service. There is complimentary shuttle service that gives easy
access to and around the three terminals.
Terminal
and check-In
Terminals A,B and C offer serve American airline companies only.
Airport
facilities
There are a number of fast food outlets and a number of more exclusive
eating establishments, shops and bars. A post office is located
nearby on Paris Street.
Business
and meetings
A business centre is located gate 10 (Terminal A) and there are
more business facilities on offer at gate 14 (Terminal A), gate
37 (Terminal C) and gate 62 (Terminal C). Fax services are not available
however.
Shopping
and money
There are plenty of ATM machines throughout the airport. Currency
exchange facilities are also available and there are a number of
domestic banks. Convenience stores are also found within the terminals.
Disability
assistance
In accordance with international aviation standards for disabled
persons, the usual facilities are available to disabled travellers,
making mobility easy. Disabled parking is well provided for and
the shuttle bus is a convenient way to travel into the terminal.
TDD telephones are located in both terminals and toilets specially
designed for the disabled are available.
Information
An information service is provided throughout the airport by a courtesy
telephone service.

Kansas City Airport Transportation
By taxi
Taxi’s are to be found next to baggage claim however they
can be difficult to find at certain times of day. Limos are available
for hire and arrangements can be made in front of the terminal exits.
Under airport legislation taxis are obliged to take passengers where
ever they choose no matter how far.
By car
From the city follow the I-29 northeast turning off at Cookingham
Drive. Then follow signs for the airport. If arriving from the west
or south of the city take the I-435 before joining the I-29.
By bus
Buses are inexpensive and are a good way to travel into Kansas City.
Parking
The airport offers short-term, long-term and disabled parking facilities.
The first half hour of all airport parking is free. A complementary
shuttle buses is available.
