Guide to Indianapolis International Airport (IND)
This airport is relatively small compared to
other American airports. Much of the flight traffic out of here
is domestic. It does not take long to get to one side of the building
to another. There are some international destinations offered. Despite
its size there are a considerable amount of facilities available.
The airport has an observation deck where travellers can sit and
relax while waiting for there own flight.
Terminal
and check-In
The airport has one terminal with concourses A, B, C, and D. Collectively
they share the long list of flight services to both domestic and
international destinations offered by the airport.
Airport
facilities
The airport has a wide variety of refreshment outlets including
a TGI Fridays and a Starbucks. There is also a food court area offering
a wide variety of international cuisine.
Luggage carts can be rented and there are lockers available after
the security check point.
Business
and meetings
Throughout the terminal are internet access points and telephones
complete with fax. There is a boardroom that is available for hire
near the ticketing area. US Airways also provides club rooms in
concourse D. The car park has Premier Business Class Parking facility.
Shopping
and money
Banks and ATM machines are well provided for and there is a Travelex
kiosk, which offers currency exchange services. Duty free shopping
is available.
Disability assistance
The staff are more than willing to help those with disabilities
and the airport meets the required standard, with specially fitted
toilets and good wheelchair access into and around the terminal.
The tiger and economy car park have designated areas for disabled
drivers.

Helpdesks are located on the upper level and in the central ticket
area.

Indianapolis International Airport Transportation
By taxi
There are metered taxis available from outside the arrivals hall.
A standard journey is around $20 and should take no more than 20
minutes. Arrangements can made for a shared shuttle van, which usually
costs $10.
By car
Travelling downtown is quite simple with the journey well sign posted.
Roads are usually free of major traffic delays.
By bus
There is a regular service from the main entrance. The Indy Go offers
passengers a cheap way to travel into town with fairs usually $1.
Parking
Short and long-term parking is available. The parking areas are
easily reached on foot via linked passenger walkways. The Premier
Business Parking is located in the long-term car park.
