Guide to Gran Canaria International Airport
(LPA)
Gran Canaria Airport, also known as 'Aeropuerto
de Gando', is an international airport located 18 km south of Las
Palmas.
Terminals
and check-in
The airport has one terminal, with three floors. The ground floor
is for arrivals and first floor is for departures. Arrivals and
departures halls are subdivided into three areas: European Union
(A), international (B) and inter-island (C).
Airport
facilities
Coffee shops, bars and fast food restaurants are available on both
the arrivals and departures halls. There is also a post office,
located in the main hall.
A medical centre is available near
the EU arrivals hall and a pharmacy is located near the check-in
desks. Baby rooms are also available and a chapel is to be found
on the second floor in the international hall.
Business
and meetings
Business travellers will find a conference room located in the corridor
connecting the international and the EU check-in halls. Telephone
booths are positioned all around the terminal and accept both cash
and credit cards.
Shopping
and money
There are many gift shops located in the boarding area. Shopping
at the airport includes a duty-free shop, clothes outlet, sportswear
store, toy and sweet shop, a leather goods shop, a florists, a jewelers’,
a clothing accessories shop, an electrical goods and music shop
and a mini supermarket.
A full service bank (open Monday-Friday
08:00 to 14:15), is located on the ground floor and ATMs are located
on the first floor, while bureaux de change are located in the EU
arrivals hall and in the check-in halls of the ground floor.
Disability
assistance
Lifts and ramps are provided in the terminal for disabled access
and car parks provide special parking spaces on every level of the
car park.

Information desks located on level 1 of the airport provide further

Airport transportation
By taxi
Taxis are located outside the airport and provide easy transit around
the island.
By car
To drive to the airport from Las Palmas and destinations on the
east coast, take the island's main north-south motorway GC-1. The
airport is well signposted.
By bus
Regular bus services operate between the airport and the capital,
as well as other destinations on the island. Further information
is available from GLOBAL (tel: (0) 902 381 110).
Parking
Those wishing to park at the terminal will find both short- and
long-term parking in front of the terminal building.
