Guide to Dubai International Airport (DXB)

One of the premier and fastest growing airports
in the Middle East is Dubai International Airport, located only
5 km southeast of the city centre.
Terminals
and check-in
There are 2 terminals including a new concourse that opened in early
2000. The new concourse is connected to Terminal 1 (Sheikh Rashid
Terminal) by a tunnel with travelators. Terminal 2 operates business
and charter flights exclusively.
Airport
facilities
There are several restaurants, cafés and bars located in
the Departures Lounge. A food court is also available, located on
the departures level between gates 13 and 15. The principal restaurant
offering international cuisine is located between gates 19 and 17.
Further facilities include a 24-hour
medical centre, several first aid posts, an attended children's
play area, quiet lounges, a post office and a health club with swimming
pool, spa, a fully equipped gym.
Business
and meetings
There are two business centres on the Terminal 1 concourse. The
business centre on the Departures Level is accessible to all passengers
and facilities include an internet café, ISDN booths and
a 24-hour secretarial service.
Shopping
and money
The airport is well-known for its excellent shopping and numerous
duty-free shops offer an amazing array of products.
Banking services and ATMs are available
in both terminals, with a number of automated bureau de change facilities.
Disability
assistance
Desks dedicated to passengers with special needs are available between
rows A and B in the Departures Hall. Carts are provided to transport
passengers to the new concourse, where disabled passengers may access
special lounges.
Information
A 24-hour Airport Welcome Bureau desk is located in Terminal 1 arrivals
and screens show flight information in various languages. On the
Departures Level of the concourse there are two more information
booths, opposite the Food Court and gate 19.

Dubai International Airport transportation
By taxi
Pre-paid taxis run to the city centre 24-hours a day. The taxi stand
is located outside the arrivals concourse.
Another option is the limousine service,
which may be booked in the Arrivals Hall. It only takes 10 minutes
to reach the city centre.
By car
The airport can easily reached by car. The Airport Road runs directly
southeast from Dubai city centre on the east side of The Creek (Al-Khor).
By bus
Buses depart to the city centre every ten minutes between 06:00-22:00,
and collect passengers from the bus stations located opposite both
terminals. Also available are buses numbers 4, 11, 15, 33, 44, providing
connections with Terminal 1, while bus #2 connects with Terminal
2.
Parking
Both long and short-term parking is available. Long-term parking
rates apply only in Car park B at the rate of 3 dhs/hr or 72 dhs
for day one.
