Guide to Chicago Midway Airport (MDW)
One of the fastest growing airports in America
it is situated 10 miles from downtown Chicago. As an alternative
to busy O’Hare Airport MDW is well organised but only serves
American international carriers and concentrates on domestic flight
services.
Airport
and check-In
It has three concourses (A, B and C). Concourse A provides flights
for Southwest Airlines and US Airways Metrojet. Concourse C for
American Trans Air while Concourse B is the largest of the three
and provides for the rest of the domestic carriers.

There are a number of establishments. Concourse A has Cafe Midway,
Chicago Bar, the Food and Beverage Kiosk and Midwest Market Express.
Concourse B has the Food and Beverage Kiosk. Concourse C offers
the Chicago Bar, Fenton Hill, Flying Food Fare, the Food and Beverage
Kiosk, North Terminal Cafe and the Snack Kiosk. Located in Concourse
C is World Books (gifts are also sold).
Money
ATM’s are found in all three concourses.

Chicago Midway Airport transportation
By taxi
Taxi’s and taxi-vans are available any time of day or night.
Parking shuttles also run round the clock from in front of the main
terminal building at the Bus/Shuttle Center.
By car
From downtown Chicago take the I-55 south to the airport.
By rail
The CTA Orange Line rail service connects Midway airport to the
city. Tickets for the service can be arranged at the station, located
near the airport on Cicero Avenue. There is a large map displayed
in the train station showing all CTA lines and stops.
By bus
Buses and shuttles operate from the airport at all hours of day
usually departing every 15 minutes. Departure times and other service
information are readily available in front of terminal buildings.
Parking
The Airport provides hourly and daily parking located between 55th
and 59th Streets across the pedestrian bridge from the Terminal
Building. Economy parking is also available with free shuttle rides
to and from the terminals.
