Guide to Barcelona International Airport
(BCN)
Barcelona airport is in a stunning building that
was renovated and modernized for the Olympic Games in 1992. The
airport lies 12 km southwest of the city centre, at Llogregat.
Terminals
and check-in
There are three terminals at the airport. Terminal A is for foreign
airline departures and international arrivals, while terminal B
serves Spanish airline departures and European Union arrivals. Terminal
C is for air shuttle flights and general aviation. There is a connecting
walkway between the terminals.
Airport
facilities
In all the terminals, there are a range of restaurants and bars
available, serving everything from fast food to international cuisine.
A pharmacy is located in terminal
B and a medical service is provided in the Bloque Técnico
building, which is open 24 hours.
Business
and meetings
The airport business centre is located on the first floor of terminal
B and provides rooms that may be hired for meetings (tel: (0) 932
983 815). Telephone, fax, photocopying and computing services are
all available (tel: (0) 93 478 6799).
Shopping
and money
Duty-free shopping is available in terminals A and B. An array of
other shops are also located in these two terminals, including a
jeweler, bookshop, tobacconists, newsagent, music shop and shoe
shop.
Banks and bureaux de change are conveniently
located in all terminals.
Disability
assistance
Lifts, escalators and ramps facilitate the disabled and reserved
parking spaces are also available. Disabled toilets are situated
across the airport and specially adapted telephones at wheelchair
height are available in each terminal.
Information
Tourist information desks (tel: (0) 934 784 704 or 934 780 565)
are located in terminals A and B and can help with general queries.
There is also a hotel information kiosk located in terminal B. Numerous
other information points are distributed across the airport.

transportation
By taxi
Taxi ranks are located right outside the terminals, with services
available 24 hours a day. The trip to Barcelona takes 25 minutes,
but note that an airport supplement will be added to all taxi fares.
By car
The airport can be reached from Barcelona city centre by car by
taking the Barcelona Ring Road or Highway C-246.
By rail
Train services from the airport to the city centre depart every
30 minutes. All trains stop at Sants-Estacio, Placa Catalunya and
Arc de Triomf, all of which link up with the metro.
By bus
A bus service is provided by Aerobus and departs every 12 minutes,
going to Barcelona’s city centre.
Parking
Public car parks at the airport provide space for almost 10,000
cars. Terminal C has a car park that connects directly to the terminal.
